What I don't understand, is if your own system believes that Ball State has had the easiest schedule of the 6-0 teams [From the opponents points collumn], why are they 2nd?
Hi,
I was wondering if I could talk to you about how you track your stats. I'm building a web site that could make it easier to update your information so you don't have to manually enter in data every week. I'm building it for people like you who like to do this kind of analysis, so I'd love your input.
You don't have an email listed, so I thought I'd leave a comment. If you'd like to talk more, please email me at gcaprio at 1530technologies.com.
Thanks,
Griffin
A fair question, Dethwing. The reason Ball State is #2 right now is because...
1) They are one of only four 6-0 teams. Straight wins is a huge part of a team's overall points.
2) 3 of their wins were on the road. Utah has 3 road wins too, but Penn State and Alabama only have 2 (one of Bama's was neutral).
3) 5 of their 6 wins have been by 3 possessions or more (and the other 1 was by 2). Penn State only has 4 wins by 3+ possessions, Alabama 3, and Utah 2.
So while the teams that they've played haven't been as tough, they've earned extra points for winning on the road and winning big. Make sense?
I understand. I don't agree with the reasoning, but I do understand.
