#1 Big12: Going 9-1 in a weekend will do wonders for your conference reputation, as the Big12 shows. Of course, none of the wins were really all that great, since all their opponents are at .500 or worse (excepting Southern Miss). The one loss shouldn't hurt too bad, but it reinforces the idea that Houston just has the Big12's number this year. They've only got 6 nonconf games left, so they'll have to rely on their previous opponents to do well. In other words, they're gonna start dropping down week by week.

#2 SEC: 4-0 this weekend against Ohio, Rice, Ball State, and Arizona State. They're wins, but they won't really help in the long run. The good news is that the SEC still has almost half of their nonconference games to play, so they have a shot to keep building up their points. They'll need to since their opponents so far are a pathetic 28-51.

#3 BigEast: Another fine weekend for the BigEast, going 5-2. Knocking off Florida State was huge, but the other wins won't be much help. The loss to Cincinnati won't hurt much, and probably neither will the loss to Utah. They're sitting pretty and won't get the credit they deserve for their nonconference victories, but all they can do is keep winning.

#4 Big10: Only one nonconference game this week, and it was a loss to Notre Dame, which might not be too bad. Overall, the Big10 dropped a few points, but it still hanging in there.

#5 Pac10: Same with the Pac10 - one game, a loss to Georgia at home. Not too bad, considering the Dawgs are rebounding nicely this month. Most of their nonconf games are finished, but their opponents have been some of the best, going 53-38. That'll help the Pac10 in the long run.

#6 MtnWest: Way far behind in 6th place is the MtnWest, going 2-1 this weekend but still only 16-11 in nonconf play this year, 5-8 against the BCS schools.

#7 ACC: Just 2-3 this weekend, with losses to Rutgers, TCU, and South Florida. The win against NC Central is useless, but the victory over Pitt might prove helpful. But it's not going to help them gain the ground they need on the other BCS conferences.

#8-11 CUSA, WAC, SunBelt, MAC: Just another day at the office. The WAC actually went 5-2 this weekend, but they didn't beat anybody good. The other three conferences were 5-11. Sorry, guys.

As far as the team rankings go, we're starting to get a clearer picture of who's solid. Iowa jumps ahead with their solid win at Penn State, followed by Boise State, LSU, and Cincinnati. As far as SoS goes, Washington, Colorado, and Washington State are still playing the toughest schedules.
